We're here
Here when you need it.
If something's not working, or you just have a question, we read every message, usually within a day.
- How does Nagi work?
- You choose a guide (ten are available, each with a different tone and approach), then tap record and speak whatever's on your mind. Your guide listens and asks follow-up questions to draw you deeper. At the end, Nagi returns a composed reflection of your own thinking. Nothing to write. No blank page.
- Which guide should I start with?
- The Zen Monk is the most common starting point: calm, unhurried, and good for anxiety or overwhelm. The Objective Mirror is good if you want pure reflection without any steering. Try a few and see which voice feels right for you. You can switch guides mid-entry if you want a different angle.
- Is Nagi free?
- Nagi is currently in early access. Founding Members get first access when we launch, with founder pricing locked in. You can also join the waitlist and we'll reach out when Nagi is open to everyone.
- What devices does Nagi work on?
- Nagi is available on iPhone and Android. We don't have a web version yet.
- Does Nagi work offline?
- You can record and speak even without a signal, since your voice is transcribed to text on your device. Generating the reflection needs an internet connection, because that's handled by a language model on our server. If you're offline, your entry is saved. Tap Go Deeper to pick it up once you're back online.
- My transcription isn't accurate, what can I do?
- Speak a little more slowly and clearly than you might in normal conversation, and make sure the microphone isn't covered. Background noise can affect accuracy. If issues persist, email us at [email protected] and we'll take a look.
- Can I type instead of speaking?
- Yes. Nagi is voice-first, that's the heart of it, but you can type whenever speaking isn't an option. Tap into the text field to write your entry, or to type your replies to your guide. Handy when you're somewhere you can't talk out loud.
- How long can a recording be?
- There's no hard limit, but most reflections work well in two to five minutes. Longer recordings are fine, and the guide will still find the thread that matters most.
- Where is my journal stored?
- On your device, encrypted. We keep no server copy and have no way to read your entries. If you turn on backup (optional), an encrypted copy is saved to your own cloud storage (iCloud, Google Drive, or OneDrive), and only you hold the key to unlock it. We still can't read it. With backup off, deleting the app removes your entries entirely.
- Can Nagi read my journal entries?
- No. Your entries are stored on your device only. We have no access to them and no means of accessing them. This is by design, not policy.
- Does Nagi train AI models on my data?
- No. We have a data processing agreement with Anthropic (our model provider) that explicitly prohibits using your data to train models. Your words don't improve anyone's models.
- What happens to my voice when I record?
- On almost every phone, your voice is turned into text right on your device, so the audio itself never leaves your phone, and Nagi never stores it. Only the text transcript is sent, over an encrypted connection, to generate your reflection. Anthropic, our model provider, receives that text, never your audio, and deletes it within 30 days. (On a few older iPhones that can't transcribe on the device, Apple's speech service does it instead, and the app asks your permission first.) The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
- What's the difference between the guides?
- Each guide has a different tone, questioning style, and area of focus. The Zen Monk is still and present. The Stoic Sage is rational and steady. The Nurturing Relative is warm and unconditional. The Challenging Best-Friend will name the thing you're avoiding. You can see all ten on the homepage.
- Can I switch guides mid-entry?
- Yes, any time while you're recording or in conversation. Sometimes a different perspective is exactly what you need halfway through. Once you reach your reflection, the guide for that entry is set.
- Which guide is best for anxiety?
- The Zen Monk or the Nurturing Relative tend to work well for anxiety, since both prioritise safety and presence over challenge. The Well-Read Friend is good if you want a more CBT-adjacent angle. Try speaking your worry to a couple and see which reflection lands.
- I signed up, what happens next?
- If you signed up as a Founding Member, you'll get first access when we launch, along with an email before we go live. If you joined the waitlist, we'll reach out when Nagi is open to everyone.
- What do Founding Members get?
- First access when Nagi launches. Founder pricing locked in permanently. And a say in what we build: Founding Members get a direct line to us as we develop the app.
- How do I delete my account?
- You can do it yourself in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Nagi account. That removes your account and your cloud recovery data. Your journal entries live on your device (and on your own cloud backup, if you turned it on), so deleting the app, plus any backup, removes those. Prefer us to handle it? Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account" and we'll remove everything within 30 days.
